Royal Candles Speedwell Veronica

Every garden needs vertical flowers in it. They punctuate the garden and add rhythm and texture. Royal Candles Speedwell (Veronica spicata 'Royal Candles') is the perfect summer flower for this.

Royal Candles Speedwell is super easy to grow and will come back year after year. The "candles" are spikes of deep royal purple that wave above glossy green leaves. They don't get eaten by rabbits or deer, but they do attract butterflies and hummingbirds by the droves.

Use Veronica in borders, beds and as a groundcover. It will be showy all summer (even better if you deadhead the first flush of flowers). The foliage will only reach 3" tall, but the flowers can spike up to 1', so plant them accordingly!

These easy-to-grow plants just need full sun and well-drained soil that gets plenty of water during the growing season to stay happy.
