How to Use Pink Double Knock Out® Shrub Rose in the Landscape

You love one as a colorful specimen or a several of them planted together for a big impact. Rely on their charming color and tidy, mounded form to welcome guests and boost the curb appeal of your property.

Don't have a property? No problem! Plant them in a pot, and use it to decorate your sun-drenched balcony, porch or patio. Just give yourself and your guests some "wiggle room" to move past it, as those thorns are no joke!

These plants make excellent additions to foundation plantings. Use a pair flanking either side of your front door, or create interest with a triangular anchor planting at the corner of your home.

Love traditional style, but want a modern interpretation? Create long, skinny planting beds and line them with a Boxwood hedge. Fill the interior with these gorgeous shrub Roses.

Plant them two feet apart on center to create low hedges that grow together. Or, use multiple rows planted in a staggered zigzagging pattern to fill a wide, open area.

Integrate these beauties into your perennial or shrub borders. Use groups to create enormous visual interest. Repeat this treatment in each of your sunny planting beds to tie the entire landscape design together.

Want to please a rugged, masculine naysayer, who isn't sure about the hot pink color? Create a lawn planting bed. Use an evergreen tree at the north, Ornamental Grasses to the west, and pop these pink-flowering shrubs along the south and east of the bed.

Instant style that makes everyone happy! And you'll definitely appreciate the performance.

#ProPlantTips for Care

These vivid plants do well across much of the United States. Give them full sun, even moisture and good soil fertility to keep the blooms coming.

Knock Out Rose bushes must have at least 6 hours or more of full sun each day. The more sun, the more flowers!

Well-drained soil doesn't stay wet for long after a rain. If you see puddles that remain, you'll want to create a raised planting bed. For truly soggy soil, plant them in containers.

Be sure to include a packet of Root Booster when planting. You'll love the boost in performance when you get your Roses off to the best start. Follow the directions on the package.

Although they are often listed as drought tolerant, LetsPlantify.com recommends that you provide Knock Out Roses a medium amount of water on a regular basis. You'll be so pleased how quickly they perk right up.

If you are growing Roses in containers, use mulch to cover the root system. Water these regularly, or add a drip irrigation system to make it easier for you.

These plants will stay smaller in the colder USDA Growing Zones. Each year in early spring, prune them down to 6 inches, just as they start to grow for the season. Wear gloves to protect your hands.

Apply a slow-release fertilizer for Roses in early spring and again in mid-summer. Follow directions on the label.

Knock Out Roses have resistance to blackspot, powdery mildew or leaf rust. Knock Out Roses also do very well in humid climates. What a wonderful plant!
