Glossy Green Evergreen
The Boxwood Fastigiata, Buxus s. 'Fastigiata', has an upright habit and oval, glossy-green leaves which makes this shrub an excellent choice for a narrow hedge or exclamation point in the small garden.
It is best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, sandy loams, it is highly tolerant to pruning. It's height, width and shape are in your hands!
Boxwood's are perfect for filling in the gap in your ornamental gardens with its many easily sculpted forms. They provide everything from topiary, pyramid, globe, and spiral shapes to hedges and Bonsai uses.
Fastigata is a slow grower that requires little special care other than annual pruning. The evergreen color shines in the doldrums of winter. This Boxwood looks wonderful when planted in mass, or used as a specimen or accent. Plant a couple in containers and frame your entry, or line your foundation with structural greenery. The choice is yours.
