Dogwoods are perhaps the most beautiful of our North American native trees. With a sculptural branch structure and four seasons of interest, they grace landscapes all along the United States.

Dogwood trees are prized for their pleasing shape, wonderful spring bloom, seasonal color and wide range of adaptability across hardiness zones. And don't let their delicate good looks fool you.

They are hardy, easy care deciduous trees that thrive in the right setting in partial or full sun. This juglone-tolerant tree will even do fine when planted near Black Walnut trees.

LetsPlantify.com is so pleased to offer the real deal. Our expert growers have carefully sourced and grown the native species White Dogwood (Cornus florida alba) for sale.

Perfect for bird-friendly gardens across the country, it makes a welcome grouping in your yard near a patio or along the sunny edge of a woodland planting.

Dogwood has an interesting bloom. Tiny, yellow true flowers are found in the center of large, modified leaf bracts. You'll see hundreds of these unique blossoms along each branch before the leaves emerge.

These flowering trees offer truly a splendid display. No wonder this is the state tree of both Missouri and Virginia!

The bracts are usually pure, snowy white, but a bloom can occasionally display a range of colors through pink and even red. Cherish this sophisticated ombre look from one of our beloved native trees.

Each season has a special feature that you'll enjoy. You'll love the stunning springtime blooms every year, and the distinctively curled, cool green leaves of summer.

In autumn, the green foliage turns brilliant red. Meanwhile, the tiny flowers have developed into beautiful, scarlet berries that are relished by local songbirds. Why not start a new hobby by keeping track of visitors to your yard in a special birdwatching notebook?

Winter reveals the beautiful branch structure and exposes the textured bark to view. White Flowering Dogwood has horizontal growth on the lower half of the tree and upright branching on the top half. This unusual growth pattern produces a graceful, flowing shape and overall rounded crown which can be fully appreciated in the long months of winter.

This specimen tree brings a lot of interest all year-long. It will naturally draw the eye to its unique form in your landscape.

Order this lovely tree for your yard this year. You'll love the top-grade plants from LetsPlantify.com delivered in sturdy packaging, direct to your doorstep.

How to Use White Flowering Dogwood in the Landscape

Dogwood make standout specimen trees in any number of locations in your garden. Try them in your lawn or 20 feet out from the corner of your house to anchor your foundation planting.

Create a special grove with a loosely triangular planting plan of 3 or 5 trees. Add Pink Flowering Dogwood to your mix, and some of the hot named varieties.

Try them at the sunny edge of a woodland. Or, repeat them along the back of your garden border. They make a fantastic focal point in the center of a native perennial garden.

To create a solid screen, plant them 5 feet apart on center. You'll measure from the center of one to the center of the next. Imagine them used in a sheltering curve around your outdoor seating area or placed behind your patio furniture.

For a sculptural effect, give each plant 12 feet apart on center. The trees will grow as individuals. Vary the spacing for the most natural look from 6 - 12 feet apart, and zig-zag the planting line to create a loosely offset grouping.

Include some on the sunny side of taller evergreens to soften the look and attract birds. A long row of them adds a sublime design element in your landscape.

#ProPlantTips for Care

In the north, it can tolerate a sunnier spot. Further south give it the drying power of the morning sun and provide afternoon shade. Proper air circulation is important for the health of the foliage. You'll get the best fall color in a sunny spot with lots of air movement.

White Flowering Dogwood is adapted to many soil types as long as the drainage is good, and the pH is slightly acidic. Dogwoods are very sensitive to poor draining soil and won't tolerate wet feet.

Improve drainage by planting them in an elevated mound or raised bed that is 12 to 18 inches above the soil line. Provide a light layer of mulch to cover the root system and give supplemental water the first season and during extended dry spells thereafter.

Fertilize with an acid fertilizer like Dr. Earth Acid Lovers Organic Premium Fertilizer twice a year. Apply once in the late winter and again in mid-summer, according to the directions.

White Flowering Dogwood certainly has something to recommend it in every season, and it will look terrific in your yard year-round. Order your expertly grown trees from LetsPlantify.com today!
