How to Use Lavender Chiffon® Rose of Sharon Tree Form in the Landscape

Even a tiny bungalow can successfully enjoy these delightful trees. Add at least one offset to your front door.

If you have a postage-stamp size porch, these cute flowering trees can easily help screen an outdoor chair and table. Watch the world go by in a private summertime reading nook .

Study the soft, sophisticated blooms. Enjoy your cup of coffee, or a nice glass of iced tea. Imagine being placed—nicely concealed just out of sight—behind a flowering privacy screen.

You can use Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon Tree Form no matter if you have a large lot, or just a small courtyard. It is a modern cultivar of Rose of Sharon that was field-tested for many years to be non-invasive. That's because most of the beautiful flowers are sterile and don't produce much, if any, seed.

Use it anywhere with pride of ownership. It will easily elevate the tone of your great outdoors.

Include an informal grouping of three, five or seven of these pretty trees in a lawn planting.

Remove the grass, and plan to apply a thick layer of mulch to cover your new bed. Stagger your new trees in a gentle, curving zig-zag.

Plant them four feet apart on center, if you want the canopies to grow together and touch. Expand that spacing to eight feet if you want the individual trees to stand apart as specimens.

Vary the spacing between four and eight feet for a very natural look. Take the time during planting to look at your planting from close up and from far away.

Have an unsightly view? Site them carefully, and you'll be so pleased to gain a sense of strategic screening.

Have a picture window? Place them where you can enjoy them from inside your home, as well.

For those who appreciate military precision, it's easy to create an avenue of these trees. Evenly space them, measuring from the center of one to the center of the next.

Durable Rose of Sharon tolerates all kinds of well-drained soil. Why not try them marching along the length of your driveway or sidewalk? You'll make your neighbors jealous!

Take this same concept and add these beautiful flowering trees as "Thrillers" in outdoor containers. Ornament your patio or pool deck with their tropical flair.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon Tree Form need at least six hours of direct sunlight for best performance. Give them sun, and reap the rewards of plentiful flowers and healthy foliage.

Provide well-drained soil that doesn't retain water for long. If you have poorly drained soil, create a raised bed or planting mound.

They'll do best with a medium amount of water on a regular schedule. Give young trees and container-grown plants careful watering.

In early spring, grab a pair of sharp pruning shears and reduce the overall size of the trees sphericle canopy to about two to three feet in diameter.

For larger trees, you might consider only reducing the size to a three to four foot sphere. Just remember to finish pruning each spring before new growth starts. Otherwise, you risk damaging the newly formed flowers.

Apply a slow-release fertilizer when you are done. Please follow the application rates on the label directions.

Don't be surprised if you want to give your tree a name. They'll become a bit of a family pet.

No matter how you use them, the blue and purple tones of Lavender Chiffon® Rose of Sharon Tree Form will keep you and your guests "visually" cool. Place your order today, as these will be a hot seller.
