Visions Astilbe

The Astilbe 'Visions', Astilbe chinensis, is a colorful feathery flower with fragrant lavender-raspberry blooms and lacy blue-green foliage. The flowers contrast wonderfully with the glossy foliage.

Astilbe 'Visions' blooms in July and is most successfully grown in a shady area, but can tolerate some morning sun. Although this Astilbe is more tolerant of dry soil than other Astilbes, do not allow it to dry out. It prefers moist, humus, organically rich soils.

A moist, well-drained area is a key feature for growing a healthy plant. In order to keep Astilbe looking good for the next year, do not cut it back in the winter, (the old foliage helps protect the plant from winter damage), but prune in early spring.

Astilbe is considered to be disease, deer and rabbit resistant and will attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
